Programme du diplôme de l'IB

IB DP 1-2,  16 TO 18 YEARS OLD

Ermitage students enter the IB Diploma Program to become critical thinkers and develop an excellent depth and breadth of knowledge. Fully invested in their own success guided by our IB staff, our IB DP students excel physically, intellectually, emotionally, and ethically.

Ermitage Diploma Programme

The DP programme consists of six subject groups, in addition to the IB core curriculum. With guidance from their DP coordinator and academic coach, students choose three subjects to study at higher level and three at standard level. Arts subjects are optional and can be replaced by an additional course from one of the first four subject groups.

The IB core curriculum: Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) and the Extended Essay broaden students' experiences and emphasise applied skills. In TOK, students use targeted investigations to reflect on the nature of knowledge and how we know what we claim to know. CAS enables personal and interpersonal development through problem solving and initiative in an area of significance to the student. Finally, the Extended Essay is an independent research project that culminates in the writing of a 4,000-word paper.

The Ermitage Team Approach

Ermitage IB students are surrounded by a supportive team who work hard to make sure they feel secure, stimulated, and successful.

  • All our IB students participate in their lessons thanks to interactive classrooms where teachers facilitate discussions and can closely monitor students' progress.
  • The coaches in each class regularly check with students to ensure they are sufficiently challenged in class, but also to support them in every way possible.
  • The CAS coordinator and supervisors work with DP students as they take the initiative to plan their CAS journey, reflect on their progress and achieve their goals. They encourage students to think big and help them manage their CAS projects effectively.
  • Each DP student has an essay supervisor who guides them through their individual research project from start to finish, when they submit their essay to the IB.
  • A university counsellor continues to work with each student to identify their future aspirations and find the best solution for them in terms of their future plans.

ARE YOU CONSIDERING ENROLLING IN THE IB DIPLOMA PROGRAMME?

You lead: in choosing your classes, participating in discussions and designing your projects.
